MCV 2023 Release Party: Honoring Our Roots & Celebrating the Future

Harvest is here, and with it comes one of our favorite traditions — sharing new wines with our extended MCV family. This year’s releases are especially meaningful, connecting us back to where we began while also marking exciting new chapters ahead.

🍷 From the Beginning

When MCV first launched with the 2011 vintage, our portfolio was just three wines: The Red, The Rosewynn Vineyard Petite Sirah, and The 1105 blend. Matt’s vision was to showcase Petite Sirah from Paso Robles while highlighting its elegance alongside Rhône varietals like Syrah and Grenache.

Those first vintages, released in 2013, quickly made their mark:

🌟 2011 Rosewynn Petite Sirah – 91 pts (Wine Enthusiast)

🌟 2011 1105 – 90 pts

These wines laid the foundation for what would become our Petite Sirah legacy. Over time, our collection has grown to include heartfelt family tribute wines (marked with three-letter initials) and Matt’s special project wines (identified by numbers).

🍇 What’s New: 2023 Releases

This year brings two landmark wines to the MCV story:

🌟 The Final Rosewynn Vineyard Petite Sirah (2023 Vintage)

This is the last vintage from the iconic Rosewynn Vineyard. To honor this moment, we’re releasing a one-time-only commemorative blend — the 2011 Red Blend — mirroring the original 1105 composition of Petite Sirah, Grenache, and Syrah. With only 25 cases made, it’s a heartfelt tribute to where it all began.

🌟 Introducing the CLV Cabernet Sauvignon

We’re also thrilled to unveil our first-ever Cabernet Sauvignon from the Willow Creek District in Paso Robles. Named after Matt’s father, Christopher Linn Villard, the CLV honors his favorite varietal and celebrates our evolution as a winery.
